RUCKUS R370-U Unleashed Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) Dual-Band Indoor Access Point With 3.57 Gbps Max Rate and IoT Ready

The RUCKUS R370-U is the Unleashed (controller-less) variant of the entry-level Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) dual-band indoor access point, suited to small offices, hotel rooms, classrooms, and retail spaces where a dedicated controller is neither required nor practical. It delivers a combined maximum PHY rate of 3.57 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and brings BeamFlex+ and ChannelFly, RUCKUS RF technologies found in higher-tier access points, to a compact, cost-effective form factor that installs and runs without infrastructure overhead.

A single 2.5 GbE Ethernet port handles both data and power. This matters in practice: a 1 GbE backhaul would cap throughput below what Wi-Fi 7 can deliver, so the 2.5 GbE connection keeps the wired link from becoming the bottleneck. The R370-U accepts 802.3at PoE+, 802.3af PoE, or a 48V DC supply, working with most existing switching infrastructure without additional spend. A USB 2.0 port supports an optional BLE and Zigbee IoT module, allowing the deployment to extend to IoT use cases at any point without additional hardware.

ChannelFly continuously monitors the RF environment and moves to the clearest channel automatically — a practical improvement over static channel plans that degrade as neighbouring networks and interference sources change throughout the day. AI-driven Radio Resource Management adjusts transmit power and radio settings in response to changing client demand, reducing the need for manual tuning over the deployment lifetime. The R370-U is also ready for the growing number of Wi-Fi 7 client devices that installers are already encountering on site.

RUCKUS BeamFlex+ shapes the antenna pattern for each connected device on every packet, choosing from over 4,000 configurations per band. In real environments — with walls, furniture, and competing RF sources — this delivers more consistent coverage than standard omni-directional access points. PD-MRC (Polarisation Diversity with Maximal Ratio Combining) improves receive sensitivity, helping maintain reliable connections at the edges of coverage areas and for battery-powered devices with limited antenna capability.

The R370-U runs RUCKUS Unleashed firmware: one AP automatically takes the master role, managing the remaining access points without external controller hardware or cloud subscription. The Unleashed interface is accessible via web browser or the RUCKUS Unleashed Mobile App — straightforward even without dedicated network operations staff. For deployments that grow, the R370-U also supports RUCKUS One (cloud) and SmartZone (on-premise). SmartMesh self-healing wireless mesh means not every access point needs a direct cable run. Supporting up to 256 concurrent clients and 16 SSIDs per AP, the R370-U is compact at 15 cm × 15 cm × 3.8 cm and mounts to wall, ceiling, or desk with a bracket sold separately.
