Day One: Build It

You'll architect and configure a real network from scratch. Starting with core concepts—OSI model, bandwidth, and packet flow—you'll quickly move to hands-on configuration using Draytek routers. You'll carve up your network with subnets and VLANs to isolate AV traffic, implement QoS for prioritization, and master the difference between broadcast, multicast, and unicast streams. We tackle real-world troublemakers head-on: spanning tree misconfigurations, switch loops, and devices that flood your network. You'll learn to identify them and shut them down properly.

As complexity grows, so does your network. We explore core-and-edge topologies and examine a critical design decision: when should you route at the core router versus deploying Layer 3 switches? You'll understand the trade-offs and when each approach makes sense for your projects.

Day Two: Go Deeper

You'll deploy a RIVI switch in Layer 2 AV mode using RIVI One configurator, then drop into CLI to understand what's happening under the hood and unlock advanced VLAN configurations and service tuning.

The final module covers enterprise Wi-Fi deployment. You'll build a RIVI Unleashed network supporting multiple SSIDs mapped to VLANs, configure guest isolation, and tackle advanced features like DPSK (Dynamic Pre-Shared Keys), Wi-Fi Calling handoff, and seamless roaming.

You'll leave with: production-ready network architecture skills, CLI confidence, and the ability to design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex AV networks independently
