Details
The Yamaha SWX2320-16MT is a L2 Intelligent Switch and is designed to support the growing demands of modern AV and IT infrastructures, where reliable low-latency transmission of audio, video and data is essential. Combining Multi-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity with intelligent network management features, the switch provides an ideal solution for professional installations requiring high performance, flexibility and simplified deployment.
Optimised for ProAV environments, the SWX2320-16MT includes Yamaha’s intuitive ProAV Settings within the Web GUI, enabling fast configuration for protocols including Dante, NDI and SDVoE. With a single click, users can apply optimised settings profiles tailored to each protocol, significantly reducing setup time and ensuring stable multicast performance. Selecting the SDVoE profile automatically adjusts IGMP snooping settings to optimise network behaviour for high-bandwidth video transmission, while the GUI also provides clear visibility of multicast settings and operations to simplify troubleshooting.
The switch supports five LAN speeds — 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10Gbps — automatically adapting performance to connected devices. This flexibility allows existing Cat5e and Cat6 cable infrastructures to support network speeds of up to 5Gbps without recabling, while Cat6A cabling enables full 10Gbps operation for higher-bandwidth applications. As demand continues to increase due to expanding wireless device connectivity, growing AV traffic and larger file transfers, the SWX2320-16MT provides the capacity required to maintain smooth and reliable network performance.
Full compatibility with Yamaha LAN Monitor enables comprehensive network visibility across Dante environments. Network traffic, switch status and Dante device information can all be monitored from a single screen, while snapshot and alarm functionality allows users to identify network changes and resolve issues quickly. Direct integration with Dante Controller further streamlines system management, creating a unified workflow for Dante network operation.
The SWX2320-16MT also incorporates built-in RADIUS server functionality, enabling centralised authentication management across multiple switches. By configuring one switch as a RADIUS server and linking additional switches to it, unauthorised network access can be effectively restricted, even in larger and more complex installations. Configuration remains straightforward through the switch’s web-based GUI.
To support applications requiring highly accurate timing, the switch includes IEEE 1588 PTPv2 Transparent Clock support across 1Gbps and 10Gbps networks. By compensating for switch delay within PTP packets, the SWX2320-16MT enables synchronisation precision of less than 1 microsecond, supporting stable and accurate synchronised audio and video playback in demanding real-time AV environments.
