The Yamaha SFP-SWRG-SX is a Gigabit SFP transceiver module designed for short-range optical connections within professional audio and video networks. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-SX standard, it operates over multi-mode fibre at 850nm via an LC duplex connector, supporting distances of up to 550 metres on OM3 cabling.

Part of Yamaha's end-to-end networking ecosystem, the SFP-SWRG-SX pairs with Yamaha's SWR and SWX series switches. It is the practical choice for in-building Gigabit uplinks where multimode fibre is already in place, including links between equipment racks, inter-floor connections, and short distribution runs in commercial and residential installations.

For installations carrying Dante, control traffic, and standard Gigabit AV-over-IP streams, the module offers a stable optical uplink without specifying for a higher data rate than the network demands.
