WyreStorm Network HD 4K30 H.264/H.265 NDI to AV over IP Bidirectional Gateway

The NHD-128-NDI-TRX is a bidirectional NDI gateway designed to bridge NDI and WyreStorm's NetworkHD AV over IP ecosystem within a single, compact device. Purpose-built for professional installers working across corporate, higher education, and broadcast-adjacent environments, it enables up to eight NDI HX (NDI 6) streams to be converted into virtual NetworkHD transmitters whilst simultaneously converting one NetworkHD channel back into an NDI output for use with platforms such as Microsoft Teams, OBS, and vMix.

The gateway operates over a single RJ45 LAN port, accepting NDI HX (NDI 6) streams via RUDP/TCP multicast and NetworkHD H.264/H.265 streams via RTP/UDP multicast, both at resolutions up to 4K@30Hz with input bitrates up to 16Mbps. The same port handles bidirectional traffic simultaneously, removing the need for additional cabling or secondary network segments. A live MJPEG preview stream is also available over HTTP, enabling fast signal verification during commissioning without interrupting the primary distribution path.

The NHD-128-NDI-TRX is particularly suited to installations where NDI-based cameras, capture cards, or software encoders must coexist with an established NetworkHD infrastructure. Typical deployments include digital courtrooms, lecture halls, corporate presentation spaces, and hybrid event environments, where NDI sources need to function as addressable NHD transmitters across a multicast network. The concurrent NHD-to-NDI output path allows content already within the NetworkHD system to be routed directly to NDI-compatible applications without additional hardware.

Unlike single-channel protocol converters, the NHD-128-NDI-TRX consolidates eight-channel NDI input with a simultaneous NHD-to-NDI output into one PoE-powered device, reducing hardware count and system complexity. Compatibility with the NHD-100, NHD-120, and NHD-150 series ensures drop-in integration with existing NetworkHD deployments. The front-panel OLED display provides real-time visibility of IP address and firmware version without requiring a web login, accelerating on-site commissioning and reducing troubleshooting time.

Powered via PoE 802.3af over a single RJ45 cable, the NHD-128-NDI-TRX requires no additional power supply under standard operating conditions. Its 1/8 rack-width form factor supports wall, rack, or freestanding installation in any orientation, with mounting accessories included for both configurations. Full integration with WyreStorm Sygma Cloud enables remote monitoring, firmware updates, and configuration management from any location. Configuration export and import further accelerates system replication across multi-room or multi-site deployments, and the device is rated for continuous 24/7 operation in professional AV environments.
