S1-7 Frequency Range

The Sennheiser EW-D S1-7 variant operates between 606.2 – 662 MHz and includes the UK’s professional wireless microphone allocation, Channel 38. This makes it the preferred option for larger or more demanding installations where reliability, scalability and RF stability are essential. Ideal for corporate, hospitality, education and live performance environments, S1-7 supports professional multi-channel deployments using licensed PMSE spectrum for improved coordination and reduced interference risk.

U1/5 Frequency Range

The EW-D U1/5 variant combines both licensed and licence-free operation across 823.2 – 831.8 MHz and 863.2 – 864.8 MHz. The 863 – 865 MHz section offers simple licence-free deployment, making U1/5 well suited to smaller meeting spaces, presentation systems and portable applications. Its flexibility and ease of setup make it a popular choice for straightforward wireless microphone installations where lower channel counts are required.
