Dahua 5216-16P-EI2 16 Channel WizSense NVR With 16 x PoE, Ports 1 To 8 ePoE, 8K HDMI Output with 2HDDs

The Dahua NVR5216-16P-EI2 is the second-generation WizSense 16-channel network video recorder, well suited to substantial high-end residential estates and commercial installations alike. It delivers 448 Mbps of recording bandwidth, sixteen integrated PoE ports and AcuPick intelligent video search performed directly on the recorder. Headline improvements over the original NVR5216-16P-EI include native 8K HDMI output, double the face detection and perimeter protection capacity by recorder, and support for SATA drives of up to 20 TB.

With sixteen integrated PoE ports (IEEE 802.3 af/at) connect compatible Dahua IP cameras directly, with ports 1 to 8 supporting ePoE for cable runs of up to 800 m at 100 Mbps over Cat5e/Cat6. A Gigabit RJ-45 LAN port handles network uplink, alongside HDMI (up to 7680 × 4320), VGA, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, RS-232 and RS-485. Two SATA bays accept drives of up to 20 TB each, with iSCSI support for extending storage onto external network resources.

Native AcuPick provides up to four channels of intelligent video search, locating a specific person, vehicle or non-motor vehicle by target frame and attribute filters such as colour, clothing or vehicle type. It is complemented by four channels of face detection and recognition by recorder (up to twenty databases, 30,000 images), eight channels of perimeter protection with secondary recognition to filter false alarms, sixteen channels of SMD Plus, ANPR with a 20,000-plate database, and four channels of video metadata across twenty-two attributes.

For larger high-end residential projects and multi-zone estates, the EI2 brings professional-grade intelligence into the principal's home environment with measured discretion. AcuPick allows the principal or estate manager to locate relevant footage in moments; face recognition distinguishes family and known staff from unfamiliar visitors; and eight channels of perimeter protection reliably guard driveways, gardens, pool areas and outbuildings, filtering the nuisance alarms typically caused by foliage, pets or changing light. Remote oversight is provided through the DMSS mobile application, enabling discreet access whilst away from the property.

Housed in a 1U rack chassis and powered from 100–240 VAC, the NVR5216-16P-EI2 integrates neatly into a dedicated AV or comms rack. It pairs with the full Dahua WizSense IP camera range, integrates with Dahua DSS Pro VMS and DMSS, and supports third-party cameras through ONVIF, CGI and SDK.
