The Dahua DHI-NVR5216-16HP-XI/Pro is a 16-channel WizMind network video recorder engineered for professional surveillance deployments across commercial, retail, residential and public-safety environments. Powered by Dahua's Xinghan Large-Scale AI Models, it introduces WizSeek natural-language video search and Text-Defined Alarming, enabling investigators and operators to locate people, vehicles, objects and events using plain English queries , transforming hours of manual review into instant results.

Sixteen IP camera channels are delivered over sixteen built-in PoE ports (IEEE 802.3 af/at) with a total PoE budget of 200 W and ports 1 to 8 supporting ePoE for extended-distance installations. The recorder provides 512 Mbps incoming, 512 Mbps recording and 384 Mbps outgoing bandwidth with AI disabled, and supports IP cameras up to 32 MP. Connectivity includes a single Gigabit Ethernet uplink, one HDMI output with 8K (7680 × 4320) capability, one VGA output, RS-232, RS-485, four alarm inputs, two alarm outputs and dedicated RCA audio in and out.

AI by Recorder supports 8-channel face detection and recognition with up to 20 face databases and 200,000 face images, 8-channel video metadata, 8-channel AcuPick and 16-channel perimeter protection. When the Xinghan Large-Scale AI Models are disabled, AcuPick, face detection and metadata extend to all 16 channels. The recorder is fully compatible with AI by Camera, supporting face recognition, perimeter protection, SMD Plus, ANPR, stereo analysis, crowd distribution, people counting, heat map, PPE detection and AcuPick across the full channel count.

The headline differentiator over the predecessor NVR5216-16P-EI2 is the integration of WizSeek and Text-Defined Alarming, alongside an updated NVR NEXT modular GUI for streamlined navigation, 8K HDMI output for higher-resolution monitoring, increased 32 MP camera support and an expanded 200 W PoE budget. Decoding capability is rated to 40 × 1080p at 30 fps or 16 × 5 MP at 30 fps, with heterogeneous video source output across HDMI and VGA for multi-display workflows.

Housed in a compact 1U chassis measuring 375 × 327.4 × 53 mm, the recorder accepts two SATA drives of up to 20 TB each, and supports N+M cluster and iSCSI storage architectures for larger deployments. ONVIF Profile T, S and G compliance, alongside SDK and CGI access, ensures broad third-party camera interoperability. Mobile access is provided via the DMSS app on iOS and Android, and the unit forms part of the wider Dahua WizMind ecosystem for unified site management.
