Dahua 5208-8P-XI-PRO 8 Channel WizMind NVR With WizSeek, 8 x PoE, Ports 1 To 8 ePoE, 8K HDMI Output with 2HDDs

The Dahua NVR5208-8P-XI-PRO is the new flagship of the WizMind 8-channel network video recorder line, refined for installations where intelligent surveillance, sustained performance and a considered operator experience matter in equal measure from substantial private residences and gated estates to corporate and commercial premises.

The PRO designation introduces Xinghan Large-Scale AI Models and WizSeek natural-language video search, transforming the recorder from a passive archive into an investigation tool: an operator can describe what they are looking for in plain language and the recorder retrieves the matching footage. Headline advances over the WizSense NVR5208-8P-EI2 include WizSeek semantic search, Text-Defined Alarms, eight-channel AcuPick, eight-channel face recognition with a 200,000-image database, and decoding capacity raised to 40 × 1080p@30 fps.

With Eight integrated PoE ports (IEEE 802.3 af/at) connect compatible Dahua IP cameras directly, with ports 1 to 8 supporting ePoE for cable runs of up to 800 m at 100 Mbps over Cat5e/Cat6. A Gigabit RJ-45 LAN port handles network uplink, alongside HDMI (up to 7680 × 4320), VGA, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, RS-232 and RS-485. Two SATA bays accept drives of up to 20 TB each, with iSCSI support for extending storage onto external network resources, and N+M cluster support for resilient multi-recorder deployments.

WizSeek, powered by Dahua's Xinghan multimodal vision model, allows the operator to retrieve clips by describing the subject in natural language, for example "person wearing a dark jacket near the side gate this afternoon" — rather than scrubbing timelines manually. It is complemented by Text-Defined Alarms, AcuPick across all eight channels, eight channels of face detection and recognition by recorder (up to 20 databases, 200,000 images), eight channels of perimeter protection with secondary recognition to filter false alarms, eight channels of SMD Plus, and eight channels of video metadata across 23 attributes. AI by camera further extends capability to ANPR, stereo analysis, heat map and people counting when paired with compatible WizMind cameras.

For high-end residential projects, the XI-PRO brings genuinely investigative intelligence into the principal's home environment with measured discretion. WizSeek allows the principal or estate manager to locate relevant footage in moments using descriptive language; AcuPick across every channel provides target-based search for known incidents; face recognition with a 200,000-image capacity distinguishes family, household staff and authorised visitors with confidenc, and eight channels of perimeter protection reliably guard driveways, gardens, pool areas and outbuildings, filtering the nuisance alarms typically caused by foliage, pets or changing light. Remote oversight is provided through the DMSS mobile application, enabling discreet access whilst away from the property.

Housed in a 1U rack chassis and powered from 100–240 VAC, the NVR5208-8P-XI-PRO integrates neatly into a dedicated AV or comms rack. It pairs with the full Dahua WizMind IP camera range — with full-channel WizSeek when paired with AcuPick-capable cameras — integrates with Dahua DSS Pro VMS and DMSS, and supports third-party cameras through ONVIF, CGI and SDK.
